Measurement Of Gas Concentrations In Inaccessible Or Confined Locations
In many fixed gas detection systems, sensor units are designed to use natural diffusion as the sampling method. Sensors are located at or near points where there is the possibility of a gas release. However, natural diffusion as a sampling method can be slow and in some instances, gas concentration measurements are hampered due to inaccessible or confined locations where a detector cannot be easily installed, or it is necessary to monitor from a Zone 0 hazardous area when using a detector suitable only for Zones 1 or 2. In these instances, using a gas sampling system is essential.
