SoloProtect renews its commitment to the Suzy Lamplugh Trust
SoloProtect is delighted to renew its partnership with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust to help promote personal safety at home and at work.
Over the past 5 years (2016 – 2020), SoloProtect has not only donated over £50,000 to the Trust, but it has also named its Sheffield headquarters after Suzy, taken part in fundraising activities such as the Vitality British 10k race, made training space available to the Trust, and ran various awareness campaigns in support of the Trust’s work to boost personal safety education.
Part of this renewed commitment will include a donation to the Trust for every one of SoloProtect’s personal protection devices sold and the provision of a lone working solution to the Trust free of charge.
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was formed by Suzy’s parents after she tragically disappeared whilst working alone as an estate agent in 1986. Since then, the Trust has helped to reduce the risk of violence and aggression through campaigning, education and support, and aims for a safer society.
Steve Hough, President of SoloProtect, said:
"I’m delighted to have renewed our partnership with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Suzy’s story is one close to all our hearts and really has inspired a generation of businesses to put worker safety at the forefront of their values – particularly in sectors such as estate agency where people often work alone.
"At SoloProtect, we’re passionate about providing exceptional personal protection solutions to organisations - and individuals - throughout the UK, Europe and the US. And with this comes an innate obligation to educate organisations across the public, private and third sectors about the risks of lone working and how to mitigate those risks. Therefore, through our renewed relationship with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, we hope we can continue to bang the drum for best practice in this area – giving millions of workers, across all industries, the confidence and reassurance that their personal safety is the number one priority."
Suky Bhaker, Suzy Lamplugh Trust's Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"The ongoing commitment and support from SoloProtect Ltd. is hugely valued by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust and all the people we work with, and for. Through important partnerships such as this, we continue to promote our services and pursue common objectives to advocate personal safety for all workers across all sectors. We look forward to continuing our work across multiple organisations to champion personal safety for all."
28 July 2021, will mark 35 years since Suzy’s disappearance. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust and various partners, including SoloProtect, will join forces in a collaborative campaign to further promote the importance of both protecting our lone workers from risk and educating the wider community about how we can best manage our own personal safety.
