SpatialCortex Validates Wearable Safety Technology Across UK Freight Operations
Freight sector MSD injury prevention with SpatialCortex MOVA technology
SpatialCortex successfully deployed its MOVA wearable and AI analytics platform across multiple freight and logistics environments as part of the UK Freight Innovation Fund accelerator, delivered by Connected Places Catapult and funded by the Department for Transport.

The trials, conducted with organisations including Port of Tyne, Portsmouth International Port, and DHL, demonstrated how real-time biomechanical data and AI-driven insights can quantify manual handling risks and support targeted interventions.

Across a range of operational settings—from quay-side activities to warehouse and distribution environments—MOVA enabled objective risk assessment aligned with HSE frameworks, helping stakeholders prioritise improvements and build evidence-based safety strategies.

This work highlights the potential of wearable technology to transform how organisations manage musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risk, moving from reactive assessments to continuous, data-driven prevention.
