Protecting People and Planet at Work
At Wenaas, protecting people at work is our core mission. As a leading international supplier of workwear and protective equipment, we set high standards for safety, quality, and responsibility across our value chain. We take environmental and social responsibility seriously - from product development and ethical sourcing to supplier requirements and measurable improvements. All suppliers and business partners must comply with our Code of Conduct, ensuring safe working conditions, respect for people, and care for the environment.
Founded in 1931, Wenaas builds on decades of expertise while actively shaping the future of sustainable workwear. Our ESG strategy strengthens supply-chain resilience and risk management while incorporating ESG aspects into new opportunities through responsible sourcing, climate action, and innovation. Our commitment is clear - protecting People, respecting the Planet, and building long-term value for our customers and stakeholders. Responsibility at Wenaas is embedded in our governance framework through clear policies, our Code of Conduct, and systematic follow-up of suppliers and internal processes. This is supported by risk assessments, audits, and ISO-aligned management systems, ensuring continuous improvement across the value chain.
Our commitment to sustainable business practices is grounded in the principles of the United Nations and Internation Labor Organization. We conduct due diligence in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. We act with transparency, requests for audit reports and prepared risk analyses according to internation guidance tools. Wenaas is subject to the Norwegian Transparency Act and has polices and routines in accordance with OECD guidelines.
ESG Supplier Program
Wenaas has taken corporate responsibility seriously for many years, and our ESG Supplier Program is a natural extension of this commitment. We promote respect for human rights, decent working conditions, and strong environmental standards throughout our supply chain, working closely with our suppliers through transparent, fair, and long-term partnerships. All suppliers are subject to pre-onboarding screening to verify compliance with Wenaas’ ethical and environmental standards, followed by continuous monitoring, structured follow-up, and remediation where necessary.
Wenaas is a member of amfori and uses the BSCI and BEPI frameworks to assess and improve social and environmental performance across our supply chain. This includes audits, reporting, and continuous improvement supported by amfori’ s resources. We maintain zero tolerance for forced or child labor and require, among other principles, non-discrimination, fair wages, decent working hours, freedom of association, and safe working conditions. Compliance with all applicable laws and internationally recognized social and environmental standards is essential. At Wenaas, we believe that sustainable growth is achieved by aligning business objectives with societal well-being through long-term partnerships, close dialogue, and regular on-site supplier visits.
Restricted Substance List
Wenaas applies a strict Restricted Substance List (RSL) that defines chemicals prohibited in our products and manufacturing processes. The RSL is aligned with EU legislation, including REACH, the POPs Regulation, and the Biocidal Products Regulation, and reflects recommendations from recognized international organizations. Compliance is mandatory for all suppliers and business partners to protect human health and the environment.
Wenaas commits to working with the UN SDGs
Sustainability is an integral part of how Wenaas operates and creates value. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our ESG framework, we focus on the areas where we can make the greatest impact across our value chain.
