Andy James
A highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental professional. Skilled and experienced in Operational Management having worked to military and ISO standards. Currently manages the RPS Health and Safety and Fire Team.
Andy has over 24 years of risk management experience, working in various roles acting as an internal and external health and safety and fire advisor, conducting risk assessments, accident investigations for senior management and carried out training in the field of fire, health and safety and asbestos.
Andy has conducted several high-level health and safety strategic audits for several UK wide clients and several high-level Unit/Garrison SHEF audits in the UK and Germany for the British Army.
Andy has closely managed several organisations’ health and safety and fire as their ‘competent person’ faced with challenges of behavioural change within senior management. This was achieved by powers of expression, leadership and communication. Practices demonstrated an overall shift towards to an integrated approach to behaviour change. Methods included installing an effective safety management system then targeted safety leadership behaviour on projects.
