Jon Coneybeare
‘Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication’, a quote from Leonardo da Vinci, has been Jon’s mantra for 36 years in safety management. Jon is a highly respected Chartered Fellow of IOSH who has undertaken safety transformation assignments in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Although Jon undertook his master’s degree in safety, health and environmental law, his key passion is helping organisations develop a generative safety culture where safety is integral to the way things are done, capturing the ‘hearts and minds’ of all employees.
The 45 years Jon has spent in the defence industry, working with SMEs and multinational upper-tier COMAH sites, have developed the tools and techniques required for all line leaders to demonstrate that safety is important to them. Jon firmly believes that what is important to the leader becomes important to the rest of the team — a principle he has shared at numerous IOSH and overseas safety conferences.
Jon’s work coaching leaders and helping businesses transform their safety performance has been recognised with numerous safety accolades, including the ‘Sir George Earle Trophy’ from RoSPA and IOSH’s ‘Best Achievement in Manufacturing Award’.
