Dr Nikki Booth began his career as a secondary school teacher teaching music, Spanish, mathematics, and physics to a broad spectrum of pupils in the Midlands (UK). During this time, he also held several leadership positions including Head of Music, Head of Modern Foreign Languages, and Head of Assessment. In his ‘free time’, he also took up positions as researcher and visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University, UK. Since January 2023, although he continues to research and lecture on a part-time basis, he left his 15-year teaching career behind him to work for NEBOSH, first as a Formative Assessment Auditor and now as Assessment Development Manager. As an academic, Nikki holds a PhD in Educational Assessment focusing on Formative Assessment and how it can support teaching and learning, has over twenty-five publications on educational assessment, and is a regular presenter at national and international conferences.
