The recent and dramatic rise in adults seeking an ADHD diagnosis in the UK is undeniable. Although as many as 1.5 million adults in the UK likely have ADHD, around 90% of them remain undiagnosed. With NHS waiting times to access an adult ADHD assessment being as long as 5 years or more, and with increasing ‘self-diagnosis’, it’s important to develop a better societal understanding of what ADHD really is, and how it affects people. This seminar will help people to understand ADHD, including its causes, diagnosis, and treatment, demystifying common myths around the disorder.
