Check Your Ladder is Safe Before You Use It
30 Oct 2023Checking a ladder for safety before use is crucial to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what to look for:
-
The Ladder Association‘s latest surveillance report highlights a concerning trend of selling unsafe ladders to unsuspecting British consumers online. The Association’s ongoing safety campaign, ‘Step Up to Safe Ladders,’ has highlighted the dangers of poor-quality telescopic and multipurpose ladders. Despite alarming failure rates, the government has yet to take action. The Association calls for urgent regulatory changes to hold suppliers and online platforms accountable for consumer safety. We commend the Office for Product Safety and Standards’s recent launch of the Product Safety Review and support the Ladder Association’s efforts to contribute evidence towards addressing this pressing issue. Stay safe and informed when purchasing ladders.

At Bodytrak, we pride ourselves on providing precise, real-time data. The gastro-intestinal pill is the gold standard measure for core body temperature in an exercise lab environment; however, the invasive nature and high costs associated with it make it a difficult tool in industrial environments.
Bodytrak uses highly accurate in-ear sensors to measure core body temperature and provide reliable information in the field. Our core body temperature data is validated to 0.18°C compared to the gastro-intestinal pill.
Find out why in-ear monitoring provides a more accurate reading than other skin-based tools on the market.

ULTRANITRIL 410
17 Oct 2023 MAPA PROFESSIONALIn industrial environments, worker’s hands are exposed to multiple risks such as chemical and cut ones that can cause significant injuries.
Sometimes, workers face both chemical and cuts hazards which lead them to favour one protection and therefore wear inappropriate gloves or double glove. It significantly decreases their dexterity and is not compliant with PPE policies.
Also, in chemical environments, the physical properties of a glove can be severely damaged (swelling, hardening, cracks) when handling aggressive chemicals. Therefore, a degradation test was introduced under EN ISO 374-1:2016 standard for all chemical gloves.
It is an additional important element to consider when assessing the chemical resistance properties of gloves as it enables to determine the behaviour of the materials in contact with chemicals.
At Mapa Professional, we understand the importance of having the right gloves for the job.
That’s why our R&D teams have addressed these challenges and designed the UltraNitril 410, an advanced protection for the hand and the arm from both CHEMICAL and CUT injuries.

ALTO 405 ACTIVATED
17 Oct 2023 MAPA PROFESSIONALThe recent pandemic and the growth in virus numbers have thrusted the issue of hygiene into prominence like never before. This has led to new cleaning behaviours within common public areas.
However, disinfectants are still widely used in cleaning protocols to reduce the spread of viruses. Although they demonstrate the rapid killing of targeted microorganisms, their effectiveness is limited in time.
Aiming to ensure permanent antimicrobial action, MAPA PROFESSIONAL partenered with PYLOTE to design a liquidproof glove that embeds a patented technology to limit the transmission of viruses and bacteria.
