Managers often struggle to get staff to use technology that can keep them safe at work for many reasons. This can range from objections over privacy to just plain apathy. So, how can you change mindsets and get everyone in the organisation at all levels to buy into the solution rather than force it on them? We will look at successful approaches to embedding new solutions or re-implementing existing ones into an organisation, with examples of where it's been done well.

Lone working was ubiquitous during Covid. Many organisations struggled to understand what legal compliance looked like with so many homeworkers. As we return to a new world of work, these challenges remain. Organisations have general legal duties under the Act, and the Management Regulations as well as specific duties under Regulations such as the DSE Regulations. How do organisations navigate this new world? How can we nudge people into minimising risk? This talk will explore some of the challenges and offer some ideas to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of lone workers.
